Special Topic - TornadoInfo.aspx
This file is located in the /Tornado directory during installation and is
the most important file among the installation. It reports all the vital
ASP.Net and Tornado metrics to the user. Whenever there is a problem, you
should run this file and forward the screen dump to support for a more
accurate problem solving process. Move this file to a safe location or
rename this file to avoid illegal access.
Pay attention to the following info during initial installation -
- License - DLL product
- Version
- Effective bin directory - Where your active Tornado.dll resides
- DLL expiration date
- Machine Name
If you have a multiple domain license this will match up with the
registered name in the ID file. No restriction in how many domain names
in the same server. This does not cover ISP operations which requires a
separate license agreement.
- Domain Name
If you have a single domain license, this will match up with the name in
the ID file. Only ONE domain is allowed.
- ID file product
This must match with the DLL Product. A Gold product ID file cannot be
used again an Enterprise DLL for example.
- Registered Domain
localhost, domain name, machine name. 'localhost' can be used as long as
the ID file is present. The only time an ID file is not required is the
Evaluation versions.
- Purchase date, User info
These are only available if ID file is present.
- global.asax
This file will be listed if it is present in the /bin level directory.
- Listing of system messages in English. Use this as a guide to input
your own messages.
- If you have customized system messages, it'll be listed side by side
corresponding to the standard messages. The messages count in the header
must match.
- Installation test
A sample csv file will be written to the /Tornado/Scratch directory for
test. If the write operation fails, it'll be reported and test will
terminate. MDAC test will be next and OLEDB driver will be used to read
the sample DB file back for display. After that ODBC driver test will be
performed. If all driver installation is good then you'll see the grid
display. The final test is the Gold version test in which a chart will be
displayed if the Jar files are properly positioned and the browser is
Java Enabled.
- This simple test will confirm the Tornado basic installation and the
excitement will begin here.......
